For all Burnelli supporters, I just received a hopeful message from the New England Air Museum yesterday.

“Upon completion of the multi-year restoration of our Douglas A-26 Invader, anticipated for mid-2012, the Burnelli CBY will be moved into our restoration facility for its restoration.” Michael P. Speciale, NEAM. (Dec 5, 2011)

After so many years in the New England winters, the CBY-3 will finally be recognized for the historic, aviation gem that it is. This is a long awaited, hopeful message.

While we believe that showing a new design would be very appealing, we don't believe the situation is as clear-cut as you seem to make it. There are people of all ages with imaginations. There are also people of all ages without imagination. We have recently had several students express interest in Burnelli and have contacted us. They obviously can see the potential. As you state, others probably don't. We will add your suggestion to our list and act upon it when we are able. Do you know any artists who might be willing to help for a nominal fee?

However, it is true that showing a new design would be very appealing. The time will come when we are able to do so. Are you prepared to

You ask, "How do we get more coverage about this safer, more efficient design in the media? Would you like to see more reports in the news?"

The design idea needs to be sold to the younger generation.
Relying on old photos and descriptions, hoping that people will see for themselves how good it could be, has proven to be getting nowhere.

I'm an old Burnelli convert from way back, but I don't see any new sales pitch that would grab the imagination of anyone younger than around 50 years of age.

To get the show back on the road, the whole idea needs to be completely revamped and brought up to date.
Even Vincent's last concept design, the GB-888 is now old hat, especially as far as the younger generation is concerned.
